The 2025 Federal Election Monitoring Project tracks and analyzes disinformation and digital campaigns related to the snap federal election in 2025 through systematic online monitoring. It examines content on major digital platforms, primarily on Telegram, but also on X, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. Focus is placed on both foreign interference and anti-democratic activities by far-right actors.
The information gathered through the project has been made available to the public, with a particular focus on journalists and fact-checkers, to inspire and inform their research. The “2025 Federal Election Monitoring” website was created for this purpose and was continuously updated. The website provides live data from the monitoring dashboard on election-related topics. The dashboard draws on the CeMAS dataset regarding far-right and conspiracy-ideological actors on Telegram. We also publish researchers’ observations, analyses, and interpretation.
